A Letter to Every Artist, Musician, and Friend Still Silent on Palestine – Gaza

To every artist, musician, and friend who is still silent on Palestine – Gaza —
Why are you staying silent?
This is a moment that demands your voice.
Your silence is complicity.
Full stop.
You have a platform.
You have eyes on you.
You have influence.
And yet you say nothing —
while babies, children, men, women, and animals
are being murdered, bombed, and starved.
This isn’t “politics.”
This is genocide.
A modern-day holocaust —
playing out in real time.
For years, you’ve had the chance to speak up.
To raise urgent awareness.
To put pressure on governments and leaders.
To save lives.
But you chose your brand.
Your image.
Your comfort.
Your bubble.
And don’t think you can one day claim you stood against this.
You didn’t.
You were silent.
A one-off reshare of the Sydney Harbour protest —
where 300,000 people marched for peace —
does not make you part of this fight.
It makes you a spectator.
You chose comfort over conscience.
Privilege over principle.
Silence over humanity.
I would love nothing more than to go back to my life and my music.
But how can I?
How can any of us?
When the new “normal” is that murdering babies
is somehow acceptable.
I don’t know about you,
but standing by my core values —
as an artist and as a human —
means more to me than any career opportunity
my silence could ever buy.
SPEAK UP FOR PALESTINE NOW —
AND EVERY DAY,
UNTIL THE GENOCIDE ENDS,
BECAUSE YOUR VOICE AND PLATFORM MATTER
— AND CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
